Yuan Xueliang, Professor, Taishan Scholar Young Expert, High-end Talent of Shandong Think Tank, National Registered Environmental Protection Engineer. Professor Yuan is the Vice Dean of School of Energy and Power Engineering and the Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Development at Shandong University. His research field is sustainable energy and environmental systems. He is the primary investigator for 20 government funded research projects, such as National Key Research and Development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Shandong Provincial Key Research and Development Program. He has published more than 100 academic papers, with google citations more than 3000 times and H index 27. He has won 9 scientific research awards.
Ronghou Liu, Ph.D, Full Professor with Tenure, Department of Resource and Environment, School of Agriculture and Biology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University(SJTU), P.R. China. He is director of Biomass Energy Engineering Research Centre, School of Agriculture and Biology, SJTU. He was former Member of Agricultural Engineering Discipline Evaluation Group of State Department Degree Committee of China; He is vice director of Teaching Steering Committee of Colleges and Universities of Ministry of Education of China(2013-2017;2018-2022). He won Cornell University Tang Scholarship in 2008 and did research in the field of biomass energy at Cornell university for 20 months with 2009-2012.He was selected as 2020 and 2021 Most Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier. He has done teaching and research work in the field of biomass energy since 1984. At present, he is executive member of Biomass Energy Committee of Chinese Renewable Energy Society, executive member of Chinese Biogas Society; executive member of Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering, etc. He is editorial board members of four SCI and Four EI journals such as 《Fuel Processing Technology》(SCI),《International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering》(SCI),《Frontiers in Energy Research》(SCI)(Associate editor),Energies(SCI),etc. He studied at Tsukuba International Centre of JICA, Japan in 1995. He worked at Department of Thermal Science and Energy Engineering at University of Science and Technology of China within 1997-1999 as a post doctoral researcher. He did research at Bio-energy Research Group of Aston University, UK within 2000-2001. Professor Liu has had a lot of experience in conducting International and National research projects in the field of biomass energy. He published 9 books as an editor-in –chief and more than 145 papers in SCI and 50 papers EI journals and his H-index is 41.He has obtained 26 China Invention Patents.
Kejian Wu is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He received BSc degree in subsurface engineering, MSc in Hydraulic Engineering in China, and PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Glasgow UK. With over 30 research grants and contracts and 100 publications, Dr Wu is active in sustainable energy, environmental impact, and energy technology (including Hydrogen and CO2 storage, renewable energy and efficiency). With 30 years of experience overseeing environmental engineering, petroleum engineering, numerical simulation, soil physics, geosciences, Dr Wu pioneered in the development of advanced digital rock physics and established novel methods of building digital porous media model for predicting complex fluid flows in porous media, plus many years of experience working for international energy companies and research technology application.
Dr. Md Shahin Alam received a B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, in 2009. He worked in different industries in Bangladesh before he came to the USA for higher study in 2015. Dr. Alam received his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, USA, in 2017 and 2021, respectively. As a graduate student, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant from 2015 to 2021 at both universities. Dr. Alam is currently an energy and technology associate professor at Odessa College, TX, USA, after finishing his Ph.D. defense. He also worked in an adjunct position in different colleges in the USA. His research interests include energy management in active distribution systems, intelligent, reliable, and secure power system planning, optimizations in the planning and operation of modern distribution systems, and renewable energy integration in smart grids.
Naiara Ortiz is Secretary General of Sedigas since October 2021, representing the piped gas sector in various national and international institutions. She joined Sedigas in 2008, as secretary of different business committees (Traders, Distributors, Transmission companies) and technical committees (Renewables, Health&Safety&Sustainability), her last six years she has been involved In promoting renewable gases and hydrogen. She is currently chairing the Sustainability Committee at IGU. She has worked in the environmental sector from the very start of her professional career as a consultant in an international company. Naiara is a graduate of Chemical Engineer with a Post Graduate Diploma in Knowledge Management for Enterprise Integration, while residing in UK, along with an Executive MBA.
Doctor Marta Biegańska received a Ph.D. degree in economic sciences in the field of quality science from Poznań University of Economics and Business (PUEB), Poland in 2011. As a graduate student Biegańska was a Research and Teaching Assistant from 2007 at PUEB. Since 2012 Marta Biegańska is an Assistant Professor at Poznań University of Economics and Business Poland. Marta Biegańska specializes in fields of quality of non-food products, smart packaging, Industry 4.0, environmental protection. She is a reviewer for a number of journals: Energies, Sensors, Sustainability, Applied Sciences, Healthcare. Marta Biegańska is also an Accredited Tutor and a member of PUEB International accreditation team, and member of PUEB Project team for the implementation of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers.
Nitin Malik earned his B.E. (Electrical Engineering) from Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering (now, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, Sonipat) in 1999, M.E. (Electric Drives) from Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior in 2001 and Ph.D (Power and Energy) from Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi in 2014. He is Professor and Research Lead in the department of Computer Science and Engineering and Dy Dean (Research) at The NorthCap University, Gurgaon, India. He has over 20 years of academic and interdisciplinary research experience at UG, PG and doctoral level in NBA accredited programs in NAAC accredited Institutes. He has published 22 papers in Journals, 23 in Conferences and 4 book chapters with a combined citation index of 236. He is currently supervising 5 PhD scholars in the field of Renewable energy, battery energy, fraud detection and disease classification and 3 others have been awarded PhD degree in the field of TCSC, load frequency control and distributed generation. He has reviewed one book on TMH and 100+ research papers in 15 WoS and scopus-indexed journals such as IET Image Processing, IEEE Access, IETE Journal of Research (Taylor Francis), Int. Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems (Wiley), Int. Journal of Smart Grid and Green Communications (InderScience), Electrical Engineering (Springer), etc. He has been a session chair in 2 international Springer conferences in 2019. He has delivered 9 invited talks on topics that include Power Quality, Optimal DG allocation, Statistics, Enablers for start-up ecosystem and Transformations in TeachingLearning Process. He has guided many industry-relevant real-world projects in various domains. He has coauthored 13 laboratory manuals. He is a life member of the Indian Society of Technical Education and Systems Society of India. His research interest include distributed energy systems, energy economics, grid integeration and machine learning applications to small-scale renewable energy system modeling, simulation, analysis, optimization and control using MATLAB and Python. He has Brainbench Master Certification in Information Technology Terminology (2011), LinkedIn learning- Machine Learning (2020), MOOC such as IIT Madras 4-weeks certification in Python (2020), IIT Kharagpur 8-weeks certification in Machine Learning (2021) and IIT Ropar 12-weeks certification in Deep Learning (2022). Prof. Blaž Likozar is a head of the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering at the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC), leading the programme “Chemical Reaction Engineering”, as well as numerous research projects (15 H2020 / 25 in Horizon Europe alone). His expertise lies (among others) in heterogeneous catalysis materials, modelling, simulation and optimization of process fluid mechanics, transport phenomena and chemical kinetics. He worked at the University of Delaware in 2014–2015 as a Fulbright Program researcher. He has authored >290 articles, was cited >6000 times, having a h-index of 39.
Anna Mazzi is Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padova. She’s Director of the Research Group Sustainability Assessment and Management (SAM.lab) at University of Padova. Master degree in Management Engineering at University of Padova (1998), Postgraduate specialization in Environmental Management and Control at University of Trento (2000) and PhD in Management Engineering at University of Padova (2005), her research experience is focused on methods and metrics to quantify the sustainability and to support ecoinnovation. The research activity of Prof. Mazzi, documented by 44 indexed papers and more than 130 other publications (H=23, 1286 total citations – Scopus Nov. 2022) is focused on the environmental impact evaluation and minimization, through life cycle sustainability assessment, to support process optimization and product innovation for circular economy. Her research experience inlcudes also several European research projects (SusFood, EIT Raw Materials, EIP-Agri, LIFE Environment, CIP Innovation, Interreg, Intelligent Energy Europe, EQUAL) and numerous national research projects, related to the implementation of environmental assessment and management tools and standards at industrial and territorial level. Her teaching activity at University of Padova is on Environmental and Health&Safety Management System (at Master Degree course in Safety Engineering), on Life Cycle Assessment (at Master Degree course in Sustainable Chemistry and Technology for Circular Economy) and on Risk Assessment (at Degree course in Environmental Engineering).
Shunli Wang is a professor at Southwest University of Science and Technology, who is also a doctoral supervisor. As the head of NELab and the new energy measurement & control research team, he closely focuses on the construction of control science and engineering disciplines, conducting the new energy measurement and control research with the collaborative battery state estimation. Recently, he joined the Department of Architecture at the University of Blida (Algiers). From 2016 till 2022, Dr. Mohamed Ouzzane was a Professor in the mechanical department at the Islamic University of Madinah (K.S.A.). He received his PhD from University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada), his Magister from Haut Commissariat a la Recherche (Algiers) and his Bachelor (Engineer) from (Ecole Nationale Polytechnique d’Alger). During 2000-2016 he was a research scientist at CanmetEnergy-Varennes (Natural Resources Canada) and Associate Professor at the University of Sherbrooke and Ecole Superieure de Technologie de Montreal (ETS). During 1986-1996 he was an Assistant Researcher at CDER (Center of Renewable Energy Development), Algiers. His research interests include both experimental and numerical activities. His areas are related to thermo-fluid sciences and renewable energy systems. He was a leader of the research program of the development of new technologies and advanced practices for refrigeration and ground source heat pumps. He is an author and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers, 2 patents, one book and book chapter, supervisor of more than 25 students in Master, PhD and Postdoctoral degrees. He was a member of an editorial board of the Islamic University Journal of Applied Sciences and reviewers of many international scientific journals.
Dr Theresia Betty Sumarno is a Lecturer in Management, at the Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University. She is actively teaching energy economics. Before joining the RGU, she had 10 years experiences working in the consulting services (Ernst and Young), industry (CNOOC and Husky Oil Ltd), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Government of Indonesia) and regional & international research institutions as energy policy consultant (International Institute for Sustainable Development and ASEAN Centre for Energy). She has been awarded a PhD in Energy Economics, Policy, and Management from the University of Dundee. Her current work and research focus on the global energy transition and centres on economic, finance, and management. This includes gender in the energy transition, carbon management, fossil fuel subsidy reforms, climate change and sustainability. Her research interests are in the area of energy economics, policy and management. This includes energy transition (could be around oil and gas sector but with energy transition narrative), gender in the energy sector, renewable energy and sustainability, climate change (carbon management – carbon pricing such as carbon tax, ETS; fossil fuel subsidy policy reform), energy investment and also oil and gas petroleum fiscal policy.

A graduate of Imperial College London, Elkhayam Dorra’s research interests focus on merging between academia and the industry. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the American University in Cairo, his research has focused on the use of data science in creating a more sustainable approach in the design process as well as forecasting models. Through the use of data science, a number of research projects were undertaken to automate the landscape design process with the objective of minimizing water demand. Moreover, extensive research has been conducted on creating an automated multi-objective model that aims at maximizing agricultural while minimizing water consumption. Such research has been recently presented at United Nations Climate Change Conference COP27
Arezki Smaili is a full professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Research Laboratory of Green and Mechanical Development-LGMD, at Ecole Nationale Polytechnique (ENP), Algiers. He received his engineer diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Université des Sciences et de la Technologie Houari Boumédiène (USTHB), Algiers in 1988, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University, Québec (Canada) in 1991, and his PhD in Energy Sciences from Université du Québec (Canada) in 1998. He joined the ENP in 2006. He was formerly research scientist in the Wind Energy Laboratory at Ecole de Technologie Supérieure, Montreal (Canada). He has been involved with wide range of energy conversion applications, particularly in the area of thermal analysis of renewable energy systems and aerodynamics of wind turbines since the 1992.
Dr. Behnaz Saboori is an Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Department of Natural Resource Economics. Evaldo Costa is an accomplished and interdisciplinary researcher and lecturer who specializes in the study of sustainable transition systems. Weronika Radziszewska is researcher in two Polish Academy of Science institutes: Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery and Systems Research Institute. She was a beneficiary of the International PhD Projects in Intelligent Computing programme financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Her research interests include agent approaches, theory of communication and development of market strategies especially in the domain of energy management. Dr Radziszewska has taught an agent systems course in the Warsaw School of Information Technology and a database course in the Warsaw University of Technology. She is participating in a number European projects (SERENE, SUSTENANCE, LOCALISED and HYPERGRYD).
Dr. Panagiotis Fragkos is a Director in E3Modeling S.A. leading the global energy systems and Integrated Assessment Modelling group with over 12 years of experience in macroeconomics, applied econometrics and energy modelling. Throughout his career he has been conducting quantitative analysis of the global “energy-economy-environment” nexus and strategic planning of climate change mitigation and adaptation. Panagiotis has also dealt with developing and operating large-scale mathematical models that simulate international energy markets and energy price formulation for commodities such as gas, oil and coal; in particular, he has developed the PROMETHEUS and PRIMES-Gas markets model. Panagiotis graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD in “Stochastic modelling of the global energy system and applications”.
Dr. Jinsong Wu is the proposer (2021), Founder (2022) and Founding Editor-in-Chief (2022-present) for the international journal, Green Technologies and Sustainability (GTS), co-published by Elsevier and China Science Publishing & Media Ltd., jointly called KeAi, which is the very first international journal dedicated to general green technologies. He received 2020 IEEE Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award, for his outstanding technical leadership and achievement in green wireless communications and networking, and received 2017 IEEE Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee Excellent Services Award for his Excellent Technical Leadership and Services in the Green Communications and Computing Community. He was the leading Editor and a co-author of the comprehensive book, entitled “Green communications: Theoretical Fundamentals, Algorithms, and Applications”, published by CRC Press in September 2012, which has been recognized as the very first comprehensive published book effort on green communications covering broad topics of green wireless communications, green wireline communications, general relevant green topics and applications in one book using a research perspective. His first-authored paper, "Big Data Meet Green Challenges: Big Data Toward Green Applications", won 2017 IEEE System Journal Best Paper Award. His second and corresponding authored paper "Energy-Efficient Cooperative Communication and Computation for Wireless Powered Mobile-Edge Computing" won the 2021 IEEE System Journal Best Paper Award. His co-authored paper “A Survey on Energy Internet: Architecture, Approach and Emerging Technologies” won the 2019 IEEE System Journal Best Paper Award. His co-authored paper “Green Industrial Internet of Things Architecture: An Energy-Efficient Perspective” won the 2018 IEEE Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee Best Magazine Paper Award. He also has received three best paper awards for IEEE conference papers. He was elected Vice Chair, Technical Activities, IEEE Environmental Engineering Initiative (EEI) (2017-2022), a pan-IEEE effort under IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB) across 25 IEEE Societies, Councils, and organization units (OU). He was the founder (2011) and founding Chair (2011-2017) of the Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing (TCGCC). He is the current Chair (2022-present) and was the co-founder (2014) and founding Vice-Chair (2014-2022) of IEEE Technical Committee on Big Data (TCBD), which was the very first technical organization on big data within the whole IEEE. He was the very first proposer of IEEE Journals/Transactions on green information and communications technologies (ICT) (2011-2012). He was the proposer (2012) and founder (2014) and Series Editor (2014-2018) on Green Communication and Computing Networks of the IEEE Communications Magazine. He was an Area Editor (2016-2020) of IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking. He was Series Editor (2014-2016) of the IEEE Journal of Selected Areas on Communications (JSAC) Series on Green Communications and Networking. He was proposer, chair and speaker of the Technical Panels on Green Communications and Computing in the IEEE INFOCOM 2012, IEEE ICC 2012, and IEEE GLOBECOM 2012. He was one of key proposers (2012-2015) from Green Track into Green Symposium within IEEE Communications Society flagship conferences (2012). He was the leading General Chair in the 2013 IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communications (Greencom). In 2014, he proposed Big Data Track with very general topics coverage in IEEE Communications Society flagship conferences, starting at Globecom 2016, which have been 14 successful editions (2016-present). He was the proposer and leading organizer of IEEE International Workshop on Green Standardizations and Industry Issues for ICT and Relevant Technologies (GSICT) in IEEE GLOBECOM 2015, which was the very first dedicated conference effort on green standardizations within IEEE and ACM. For not short terms, he has professionally worked in industrial and academic positions in Asia, North America, and South America.
Prof Anirbid Sircar is the Director of School of Energy Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gujarat, India. He has served the University in the capacity of Coordinator - Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, Director-School of Petroleum technology, Dean-R&D. He also served Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) as a Director General from 2018 till 2020. Dr Sircar did his undergraduate from IIT Kharagpur and M Tech and PhD from ISM Dhanbad. He has obtained his M Tech degree in Petroleum Exploration and PhD in Reservoir Tomography. He also possess a Diploma in Business Administration from Annamalai University. Dr Sircar served Larsen &Tubro, Tullow Oil, HPCL (Prize Petroleum), Enpro, Jubilant Energy. He has 140 publications, 15 patents, 7 books to his credit. He has completed 11 funded projects and at present two are ongoing. His research interest includes Petroleum Exploration, Asset Management, Gas Distribution, Geothermal Energy. He and his team is first to generate electricity from Geothermal Energy in India.
