Prof. Youzhu Yuan

Xiamen University, China

Youzhu Yuan is a full professor of catalysis division, the Department of Chemistry, Xiamen University, China. He received Dr. Eng. Degree from Nanjing Forest University in 1990 and Dr. Sci. degree from the University of Tokyo in 2000. He started his independent academic career in Xiamen University since 2000 as a full professor. He is also a senior research fellow in State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces and National Engineering Laboratory for Clean Productions of Alcohols-Ethers-Esters, China. He studies catalysis across heterogeneous and homogeneous systems, focusing on the catalytic transformation of non-petrol carbon resources to chemicals and fuels. The main target reactions include selective hydrogenation, synthesis of ethylene glycol/higher alcohol from syngas, and high-value conversion and utilization of lignin and CO2. He has published more than 200 papers on peer-reviewed journals, with H-index of 45. He is an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Catalysis, Inorganic Chemicals Industry, Clean Coal Technology, and Carbon Future.
